Absolutely! The best lifter for that would be either the Pipe Hook with wings or our Multilift.
If you set RCP often, the Pipe Hook with manhole wings would be dual purpose as the support wings can be removed so you can you use it as C Hook. It is “C” shaped and is inserted into the manhole with the manhole opening being parall the the ground (opening is NOT facing up). The wings are features that reach out beyond the width of the lifter itself (6”) to offer additional support to the manhole.
If rectangular objects are something you consistently work with, the Multilift may be more suited. It has various leg and pad additions and have a very large grip range. For instance the ML8K10t48 can grip from 10” to 48” with an 8,000 lb capacity. It’s very versatile as you can reverse the legs and insert the lifter in a rectangular manhole that is sitting with the opening facing up. From that position the legs push outward and pick the object from the inside pushing out.

OSHA 1926.1400 defines a crane and includes equipment that can hoist, lower, and horizontally move a suspended load. If the modified excavator performs these functions, would likely need to comply with crane regulations.
Yes, this is certainly possible. There should be some consideration given to the road conditions. If this were through a rough, gravel yard for instance using a wheel loader would not be ideal. However using an excavator or loader on the roadway would work just fine!
If you are looking to do this in a horizontal rotation, the sling attaching the lifter will allow for you to spin the lifter a full 360 degrees, if needed. If you want to rotate the Bin Block vertically, this is not such an easy task. Please contact our engineering department directly at eng@kenco.com. They will be able to help you find a solution!
